Orinoco Delta: Jungle Getaway
- DATES ON REQUEST / 2 NIGHTS AND 3 DAYS
The Orinoco Delta is one of those places few left on the planet: a labyrinth of channels and jungle where water rules. This trip is a true adventure and, at the same time, a retreat in the heart of tropical nature.
A real jungle. No theme-park trails: here the jungle is so dense that you cannot advance without a machete. And you will not only walk through it: you will take a jungle survival course with expert local guides. At the end, we will send you in digital format your Venezuela PRO “Delta Survivor” diploma: a nice little detail to remember the adventure.
Animals in the wild. Howler and capuchin monkeys, parrots and macaws, snakes, river dolphins, capybaras, among others… The jungle has no schedule, so nobody can promise you all of them, but you will surely see many of them in their natural habitat.
The Warao people, “the people of the canoes”. The Warao largely preserve their culture and traditional way of life, and have been moving around by curiara since the age of three. You will meet them in their own community and be able to buy directly from them, at artisan prices, the objects they weave by hand from moriche palm: beautiful, durable and useful pieces, among them the famous moriche chinchorro (hammock).
You will stay in cozy wooden cabins with palm roofs, built right over the water, with the basic comfort you need: a bed with a good mattress, mosquito net, bathroom and shower.
Here the day is set by the tides: the water rises and falls, and with it the life of people and animals changes. Surrounded by green everywhere, with the quiet sounds of the jungle in the background, you will understand why this trip is remembered for a lifetime.
- Direct from Margarita, no stopover in Caracas!
- All transfers by land, air and water included. We pick you up at your hotel or residence in Margarita.
- Groups from 3 people.
